"A winged shadow caresses the hillside, its dark silhouette a sharp contrast with the brilliantly lit grass. Following its course, you see a blue jay, almost blending with the cloudless blue skies.
As he flies, he sings harmony with the wind. So close, yet beautifully different, to the tune. He pauses only to ask the wind for a more daring vocal, a more challenging piece. Though he sings loud and well, his gaze, those sharp, dark eyes never stop searching the lands below him. Though looking closer, as he dips towards the earth, you recognize a playful gleam in those deep eyes.
He loves to play games, weather upon those present, or those far away. But a wink that assures you there is no malice intended in these pranks, just a desire to make everyone happy.
Gliding upon the friendly winds, he alights upon a once jagged rock, blunted by age and the eroding winds. He continues his windsong, though the tune has changed, until the sounds fade to a whisper, a haunting melody in the back of your mind. Then he settles his feathered body a shining gem on the golden crown of rock.
Secure in his perch and surroundings, he preens himself, searching for any mites that might previously have escaped his notice, though he still pauses occasionally, studying the movement around him. As wary as he is, he is far from uptight. Rather he is the ideal of sweetness and sensuality. Even perched upon the ridge, his feathers caressed by windsong, you could swear you just saw him smile."
